An entertaining webseries that narrates the saga of the army soldiers

The first season of the web series ‘Avarodha’, which is broadcast on the OTT platform Sony Live, was based on the surgical blows that crossed the border in the year 2018, while the second season brings the story from two years earlier. This has presented the demonetization carried out in 2016 and with it the terrorist acts that occurred throughout the country. The story of the web series is based on the book ‘India’s Most Fearless’ by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Its script is written by Brijesh Jayarajan and Sudip Nigam. In this web series directed by Raj Acharya, actors like Abir Chatterjee, Mohan Agashe, Neeraj Kabi, Anant Mahadevan, Aahana Kumra, and Sanjay Suri have major roles. Bengali actor Abir makes his debut in Hindi cinema through this series. Raj Acharya has been an associate director for movies like ‘Nayak’, ‘Neerja’ and ‘Love Sonia’.

For the first time in the ‘Avarodha 2: The Siege Within’ web series, a new reason for demonetization has been given. Until now people have been aware that the demonetization was done to promote digital transactions in the country and destroy the network of counterfeit banknotes. But in this series, the story of demonetization is presented from the perspective of the Indian Army and the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Before the year 2016, Pakistan had waged an economic war against India. By virtue of this, a large shipment of counterfeit banknotes was sent to India via ship. With the help of these false notes, the enemy country wanted to promote terrorism in addition to damaging our economic system. For this, a large consignment of RDX was also sent, to make the country shake. But at the right time our intelligence agencies had destroyed their plans.

Story of Avrodh Season 2

The story of ‘Avarodha 2: The Siege Within’ is based on the heroic saga of our Indian Army Jawans, a symbol of indomitable courage and valor. The series shows additional income tax officer Pradeep Bhattacharya (Abir Chatterjee), who is also a major in the army, trying to break up the counterfeit banknote syndicate. On the other hand, Pakistan is engaged in preparing a major attack against India. He has planned the attack in several stages, including economic warfare and a bombing plot. ISI chief Ehsan Waziri (Sanjay Suri) is involved in executing the conspiracy along with Pakistan Army chief Aziz. His trusted assistant Parveena Shahnaz (Aahana Kumra) is already working for him in India. Her plan is to blow up 25 places in one day. For this, the responsibility of bringing the help of the separatist groups along with the provision of 70 kg RDX, mobile phone, printer, a bomb expert, counterfeit banknotes falls on Parveena. However, the Indian Army and intelligence agencies are very close to him.

According to Pakistan’s plan, there would have been chaos throughout the country during the explosion. At the same time, it will deliver counterfeit bills throughout the country. But for this, it is more important to execute the bomb blast plan first. After sending RDX, ISI sends Afghan bomb expert Zafar Hamidi to India. He crosses the border from Kashmir and enters the country. After that he tries to go to another place. But the Indian military and intelligence agencies are also committed to his work. At the same time, they continue to receive information about each conspiracy, so their preparation is also strong. Most help in this comes from the sources present in Pradeep Bhattacharya’s Kashmir. Can ISI and Pak Army succeed in their plans? Is Zafar Hamidi trapped? Under what circumstances is the demonetization decision made in the country? What is the role of the Indian Army in the demonetization decision? How are demonetization and the surgical strike related? To know the answer to them, you must watch the web series.

Avrodh Season 2 Review

This eight-episode web series presents the saga of the victory of the Indian Army and the intelligence agencies of our country. With some creative liberties, series writers Brijesh Jayarajan and Sudip Nigam provide a detailed account of how Captain Pradip Bhattacharya established an intelligence network to quell terrorist activities. If you love watching movies like ‘Border’, ‘Lakshya’ and ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, you will enjoy watching this series. How other agencies in the country fulfill a mission together with the military and intelligence, has been well shown in the series. The director of the series, Raj Acharya, needed to do some more work. If he had been like this, he might have saved himself from slowing down. Episodes of 45-50 minutes sometimes seem prolonged. However, the technical team has done a great job. The cinematography is good. Many parts of Kashmir have been presented very well. Background scoring appears to be accurate depending on the situation.

Bengali actor Abir Chatterjee, who made his debut in Hindi cinema, has performed brilliantly in the role of Income Tax Officer and Major. Here only one thing arises: how can a Revenue Officer be an Army Major at the same time? But Abir has done justice to both roles with his great performance. Vijay Krishna has also performed well in the role of the army officer Imtiaz. Despite having less screen space, he has left a deep impression with his solid acting. Sanjay Suri as ISI Chief Ehsan Waziri, Rajesh Khattar as Army Chief Pak Aziz, Neeraj Kabi as India’s National Security Adviser, Mohan Agashe as Prime Minister, and Ahana Kumra as Pakistani agent Parveena Shahnaz. Overall, the second season of ‘Avarodha’ looks better than the first. In this one, an attempt has been made to create adventure through a new story. The series is a bit slow, but you can watch it once. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
