Lucknow: The Ram Temple in Ayodhya under construction will open to the public in December 2023. However, construction of the temple is expected to be completed in 2025, authorities said. National media India Today reported.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the temple on August 5 last year. The construction of the temple is done in times of war. A museum, digital archive and research center will be set up near the temple, authorities said.

India Today reports that once the basic structure of the temple is completed, devotees will be provided with facilities to pray. Sources said that at least 70 percent of the stones in Karsevakapuram will be used for the construction of the temple and no steel or brick will be used in the construction.

The temple will undergo a series of studies and the use of modern and traditional technologies for its survival over time, authorities said.

The construction of the sanctum sanctorum (shrine) of the temple will be completed and the idols of Ram Lal, Sita and Lakshmana will be replaced. Idols are now kept in a temporary sanctuary.

The temple is being built on an area of ​​2.5 acres. The trust’s general secretary, Champath Rai, said: “We expect the work to be completed in three years.”

The temple is being built at a cost of Rs 1000 crore. At the same time, the Shri Rama Janmabhoomi Tirtha Temple has so far received more than Rs 3,000 million in donations.
