With the changing times, ghost stories have also changed. The way of presenting horror movies based on these ghost stories has also changed. Otherwise, the ghost walking with the opposite foot used to try to scare the audience with the noise from the door. Wearing a garland of Rudraksh and a dhoti, the tantric used to try to control it by applying black tika on the forehead. But as the weather changed, the costumes also changed with the surroundings. The tantric began to appear with pants and leather jacket. According to his business, he began to roam on the modified tour bus. Yes, we are talking about the movie ‘Bhoot Police’, which is streaming on the OTT Disney Plus Hotstar platform.
Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Yami Gautam, Jacqueline Fernandez, Rajpal Yadav, Javed Jaffrey, Girish Kulkarni and Jamie Lever have major roles in the movie ‘Bhoot Police’. The film is produced by Ramesh Taurani, Akshay Puri and directed by Pawan Kriplani. Let us know what the top four shortcomings are seen in this movie.
The movie Bhoot Police will air from September 10 on the OTT Disney Plus Hotstar platform.
1. Weak history
The story of the movie ‘Bhoot Police’ is written by Sumit Batheja, Pooja Ladha Surti and Pawan Kriplani. Very weak at the script level, there is nothing in this movie that you have not seen before. There are two brothers and two sisters at the center of the film’s story. The father of two brothers Vibhuti Vaidya (Saif Ali Khan) and Chironji Vaidya (Arjun Kapoor) was Ult Baba Tantrik, who left a five thousand year old Tantrik book. There are two sisters Maya (Yami Gautam) and Kanika (Jacqueline Fernandez), whose father has left a legacy of a tea garden, where Maya goes in search of Baba after the arrival of a spirit like Kichkandi.
There he meets Vibhuti and Chironji. He comes to Silawar in Himachal Pradesh with both. Together, both brothers liberate that place from the ghost. Efforts have been made to make the movie great via VFX, but due to the weakness of the script, it can’t be done. In this, even after the timepass sequences and the small incidents inserted to increase the length of the film, the story forces the audience to watch the film with breath for a while after the last one.
2. Sneak peek of the movie Stree
Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor star in Dinesh Vijan’s film ‘Stree’ is a benchmark in the horror comedy genre. It has created a new definition of horror comedy movies in the modern era. This is the reason why all the filmmakers were impressed by her, whose sparkle is also visible in the movie ‘Bhoot Police’. There are two scenes, looking at which you can clearly tell that this woman is inspired by the movie itself. First, the workers who work in the tea gardens are locked in their houses at night. They are afraid that Kichkandi will kill them. One night, a worker leaves the house to defecate in fear with his wife, where he meets a ghost. Seeing this, the woman remembers those scenes, when the townspeople stopped leaving the house out of fear. Nobody goes anywhere at night.
Similarly, there is a scene in the movie, where Vibhuti Vaidya and Chironji Vaidya meet with the village people to take away their fear. As he encourages them, they say that the little spirit will retract his mandate. To do this, they make slogans of Go Kichkandi, Go Kichkandi. Even in the movie Stree, ‘Woh Stree Tu Kal Aana’ is written outside every village house to remove the fear of ghosts from people’s minds and keep them safe.
3. Presence of Rajpal and Jacqueline
The presence of comedians Rajpal Yadav and Jacqueline Fernandez in this film knocks on the door. Rajpal Yadav is a great artist, if he stayed in the movie why was he given a role of only 5 minutes? That is also a role that any artist could do. I would even say that there was no need for that scene in this movie, in which the act of Rajpal Yadav is shown. Jacqueline Fernández herself, who plays the sister of Yami Gautam’s character, sees no special reason to keep her in the film. Even he finds it difficult to communicate in Hindi. However, for that they have tried to make her a Londoner.
4. Mediocre acting
Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor have leading roles in the movie ‘Bhoot Police’. The characters of Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez support the main characters. In terms of acting, all the actors have done a mediocre performance. Looking at Saif, it seems like he has stopped trying to do better. One type of performance in each film separates any artist from the variety of characters. When the body language is also seen in the formula set from above, then understand how much justice can be done to the character.
Arjun Kapoor has been brought in for Ali Fazal in the film. But he doesn’t seem to have any special charisma in the movie either. According to the character, he had to be patient and serious but his dialogues seem artificial according to his character. Arjun still needs a lot of work on delivering his dialogues. Yami Gautam does not have the character according to his acting skills. While Jacqueline doesn’t fit her character at all.
Despite the shortcomings, a movie worth seeing once.
Despite all these shortcomings, the movie ‘Bhoot Police’ is a movie worth seeing once. The main reason for this is that, except for a period of time, it keeps the audience excited the entire time. The mystery of what will happen next remains in the film. It has been described as an average movie by movie critics, which is why the movie has failed to impress them much. At the same time, the public is really liking this movie, the big reason behind this is that people didn’t expect that Saif and Arjun’s movie on such a subject could entertain them.
Along with this, the look, color and decoration of the film is also better, that is, the presentation of the film has been done well. Director Pawan Kriplani, who has made movies like Darr, Phobia and Ragini MMS, has done his job well. He is seen carrying the entire movie on his shoulders despite the weak plot and average performance of the cast. The sound design and background music are excellent too. Anyway, the background is very important in any horror movie, which is well understood by Anirban Sengupta and Clinton Cerejo.
