Ireland wins first ODI against South Africa The second ODI of the series between the two teams was won by 43 runs. Captain Andy Balbirnie scored a century to put Ireland ahead. Balbirnie scored 117 of 102 balls. Batting first, the team scored 290 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.

In response, South Africa faced 247. Ireland led 1-0 in the series. The first match had to be abandoned due to rain. If they win Game 3, Ireland can win the series and move on to another historic achievement.
