Clash in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir; Troops kill three Lashkar terrorists

Mudassir Pandit, the defendant in the case, was among the seven people killed, including three policemen, police said. Recently, two councilors and two civilians were killed in their attack. A total of three Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in the attack, police told ANI.

The Lashkar-e-Taiba attack on police officers on June 12 had sparked massive protests within the army. The army then launched several operations in the Sopore region of northern Kashmir.
The attack took place when a team led by Deputy Inspector Mukesh Kumar arrived in the city of Sopore to enforce Kovid 19 restrictions. Waseem and Shaukat were killed in the attack, police said.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the attack on security forces and civilians in Sopore. He said the injured should recover as soon as possible.
