More than 19 people were reportedly rescued from the well. The bodies of four people have also been found. Meanwhile, 13 people are reported to have yet to be identified. Police said rescue operations were underway.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the accident. The Chief Minister told the media that the National Disaster Management Force and the State Disaster Management Force were continuing rescue operations in the area and that senior police officers had arrived on the scene.
