- IPL arbitration failed again
- Devadatta did not allow Padikkal’s window
- KL Rahul in protest
The appeal for the wicket came on the third ball of the eighth round when spinner Ravi Bishnoi bowled. The referee did not allow the wicket despite the appeal affirming the wicket. With this, Captain KL Rahul decided to review. The third referee did not allow the wicket, although it was almost clear that the ball was in the batter’s glove.
Rahul and Bishno were among the disappointed referees. KL Rahul was again seen speaking to the referee about the matter. Devdutt was fired shortly after the window was not allowed.
Devdutt was fired for 40 of 38 balls. Former Indian cricketer Srikanth and New Zealander Scott Styris have spoken out against the referee’s decision. Srikanth’s response was that the referee had made an unforgivable mistake. Styris also said that the third referee should be fired right now.
Previously, Punjab had a similar incident in the last match. But he was in favor of Punjab. Captain KL Rahul’s window was not allowed. This was also a great controversy. Rahul Tripathi caught KL Rahul against Shivam Mavi in the 19th final of the match against Kolkata. However, the third referee ruled in favor of KL Rahul. The referee refused to allow the wicket assuming the ball was touching the ground. Punjab needed 11 of 9 balls to win at the time. The match was won by Punjab.
