- The ED on Thursday arrested two people in Bollywood.
- First the assets of actress Yami Gautam and then Dino Morea were confiscated.
- The properties of late Congress leader Ahmed Patel’s son-in-law, actor Sanjay Khan and DJ Aqeel were also attached.
The ED said that the ED has issued a preliminary order to confiscate the properties of four people under the PMLA. The value of the property is Rs 8.79 crore. The ED said in a statement that assets worth Rs 3 crore of Sanjay Khan, Rs 1.4 crore of Dino Morea, Rs 1.98 crore of DJ Aqeel and Rs 2.41 crore of Ahmed Patel’s son-in-law Irfan Siddiqui have been attached. The ED has temporarily attached his movable and immovable properties. With these seizures, the total seizure has reached Rs 14,521.80 crore.
Nitin Jayantilal Sandesara, Chetankumar Jayantilal Sandesara and Deepti Sandesara are absconding in the Rs 14,500 crore bank loan fraud case among the main promoters and directors of Sterling Biotech. ED officials said the payments were made to Dino Morea and DJ Aqueel between 2011 and 2011. Both attended an event organized by the Sandesara brothers. The event was organized in Delhi.
Dino Morea and DJ Aqueel were given lakhs of rupees for participating in the event. The agency believes that the rupee has been used by the company to defraud the bank and considers it a ‘misuse’. Bhai Sandesara is the promoter and owner of a pharmacy company in Gujarat.
