The first film of this franchise came in 2001 and its name was ‘The Fast and Furious’. For this film, the makers took many cars and for some scenes they took the name of Picture Car Department. In the first film itself, the makers converted around 78 cars.

According to a report, the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise has used 2300 cars in the films so far. The first part used 78 cars, the second part ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’ used 130 cars, ‘The Fast and Furious – Tokyo Drift’ used 249 cars. Similarly, 190 cars were seen moving in the fourth part, 260 cars in the fifth part ‘Fast Five’, 350 cars in ‘Fast and Furious 6’, 230 cars in ‘Furious 7’. On the other hand, the makers of the franchise used 350 cars in the chase sequence in the eighth part ‘The Fate of Furious’, 250 cars in F9 and more than 250 cars in the tenth part ‘Fast X’.

The junkyard car and the real car are edited with special effects in a way that the audience cannot understand.

What happens to the cars that come out of the junkyard?
Some of the stunt cars used in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise have been restored and reused. Some special cars have been sent to the museum. But some cars which are not useful at all are later scrapped. The Ford Escort RS 1600 used by Paul Walker in ‘Fast and Furious 6’ was later restored. An awesome jump scene was shot with this car. Two stunt cars were used for this scene. Out of which one car was completely destroyed while the other car was in slightly better condition. So later it was restored.
