TV industry is one such place where making a career is uncertain. Rarely do some artistes get back-to-back shows while many have to wait for months or even years. Because of which they disappear from the limelight and often fall into depression. Currently, Aman Maheshwari, who is seen in the role of ‘Nakul’ in ‘Anupama’, was also unemployed for about six months. He was so fed up with it that he decided to pack his bags and move in with his parents who live in his hometown. However, one day luck took a turn and he got discharged from the Rupali Ganguly starrer serial. Currently, he spoke to our colleague ETimes TV about what he is doing after ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2’.
Debina Banerjee sent her mother home after the storm was over? what the fact?
How was the journey from ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2’ to ‘Anupamaa’?
After ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2’ I was jobless for six months, I had no work. It is not that once you get a good show, more opportunities will come. I do not believe in this theory. Since I was not getting any good projects, I decided to go home. I had packed my bags and that’s when I got a call from Anupama’s production house. I am lucky to have this show.
Who is your biggest critic?
When I look at the past and present performance, I realize that good performance has improved with Anupama. My father is my biggest critic and used to point fingers at my dialogue delivery but he likes my character and work in Anupamaa.
Famous actress’s second marriage also broke, she is going to get divorced after 13 years
Why did you want to go home after Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2?
Since the financial situation and work were not stable, I was ready to go home. If I was getting good shows, I would not have thought about it. But I decided to go into business as there is no guarantee in this profession. Acting is not considered in any other profession. Even if I act for 10 years, I will not get a job. So, when I was auditioning for Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, I was in the habit of maintaining an excel sheet for my records. I remember it was my 247th audition.
Tell us about your struggle days?
I used to get teased by my roommates who were doing Splitsvilla at that time and I didn’t get a job even after auditioning. There was a time when I used to ask directors if there was any problem with my acting and why I didn’t fit in that role. Often it happened that they used my audition video for reference but did not cast. I gave these auditions for two and a half years and my father was also worried about what would happen to my career. But in the current track of ‘Anupama’, Nakul’s character is getting a lot of appreciation for his performance in the show. Fans are very fond of the change in Nakul.
