Arun Govil became popular by playing the role of Shriram in Ramayana. Then he has shared an anecdote during that time when he was playing the character of Shriram on screen. He said that I had put on make-up during the shooting, but was sitting wearing shorts and T-shirt. A woman came in search of Lord Rama. He also had a small child with him and he kept the crying sick child at his feet and prayed for his recovery.
Arun Govil was shocked by this behavior of that helpless mother. He asked the woman to take the child to the hospital and prayed for his safety. After this the mother held her hand and placed it on the child’s forehead. Three days later the woman returned to the set and the child was walking beside her, he was absolutely healthy. Arun Govil said, ‘All this has happened because of everyone’s faith in Lord Ram and that kind of faith is needed when they make films on religion.’
Arun Govil was born in the year 1958 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh and took admission in Engineering Science. Arun Govil’s father Mr. Chandra Prakash Govil was in a government job. When Arun Govil came to Mumbai in 1975, he did not come with the dream of acting. He came to Mumbai to help his brother in his business. Then he was only 17 years old. Not interested in this work, Arun Govil thought of doing something fun.
Arun Govil used to act in plays during his college days so he decided to enter the world of acting. Arun Govil stepped into the film world and the film ‘Sawan Ko Ane Do’ was a superhit. Then in the year 1981, the film ‘Jio To Aise Jio’ was also a super hit. Arun Govil’s film career was going well and Ramanand Sagar gave him serials like ‘Vikram Aur Betal’ and ‘Ramayan’ in the 1980s.
