Mumbai: The two Bollywood stalwarts appeared together in the 1993 film Tiranga. Veteran actor Nana Patekar worked in the film with late actor Rajkumar, who is known for his flamboyant position in dialogues and acting. The patriotic trilogy was much loved by the fans at that time, but convincing both Rajkummar and Nana Patekar to act together was a tough task.

Although Nana Patekar turned down the offer of the film, Nana Patekar said that he does not do commercial films. But the director of the film Mehul Kumar persuaded her to approach him again and after reading the script, Nana Patekar said yes to all three. However, before saying yes to the film, Nana Patekar had placed a special condition on the director that he would leave the film if Rajkumar interfered. After which director Mehul Kumar assured Nana that Rajkumar would not interfere during the shooting of the film.
