Failure of ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’, can these 5 great movies save Bollywood?

In the tsunami of cinema in the South, the hopes of Bollywood trying to save their existence have been dashed. Bollywood is very proud of Akshay Kumar. Three or four of his movies have been hits or superhits in a year. The average business of these films has been in the range of Rs 100 to Rs 300 crore. But after the second wave of Corona, if Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ is left out, none of Akshay Kumar’s films have performed very well at the box office. Following the recent release of ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, his film ‘Raksha Bandhan’ had high expectations but the performance of the film so far has been disappointing. Along with this, the business of Aamir Khan’s movie ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, which is called reliable, is also very bad. After the release, ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ has grossed Rs 27 crore and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ has grossed Rs 21 crore.

If we look at the collection trend of both movies, then the cost is not visible even in the next two weeks. ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ is priced at Rs 180 million while ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is priced at Rs 125 million. If the collection of these movies exceeds the cost, they will only be considered a hit. The subsequent proceeds will benefit the film industry. But when both movies are struggling to recoup their cost, what can Bollywood do for them? In such a situation, all eyes are now on the upcoming movies. In the next year and a half, more than 10 mega-budget, big-star movies will be released. If the business of these movies is better than expected, then Bollywood will breathe a sigh of relief, but if they meet the same fate as old movies, then the Hindi film industry will be in trouble. A lot of damage has already been done due to Corona.
