After the category horror movie ‘Chhori’ which aired on Amazon Prime Video last year, director Vishal Furia now brings the psychological crime thriller ‘Forensic’. This film is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, which was released in the year 2020. The Malayalam film was directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, starring Tovino Thomas and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. The roles of these two are played by Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte in the Hindi remake. But the remake hasn’t become as effective as its original movie. The big reason for this is the script, which has been written by Adhir Bhatt, Ajit Jagtap and Vishal Kapoor. If the script had been adjusted, then the story would have seen more excitement and speed. However, a successful attempt has been made to bridge this gap through the score and background music. Because of this, it has become entertaining.
Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte are OTT stars. Their race car has been galloping since it came to OTT. Vikrant, who started his career on television, made his Bollywood debut in the year 2013 with the movie ‘Lootera’. But the web series ‘Mirzapur’ released in the year 2018 gave him a new identity. After this, OTT demand for him increased rapidly. Following this, web series such as Broken But Beautiful, Criminal Justice and Made in Heaven gave his career a further boost. The result of this is in the form of movies like Haseen Dilruba, Love Hostel and 14 Phere. Similarly, Radhika Apte was brought to a new level of popularity by the Netflix web series ‘Sacred Games’. Now they are both broadcasting the movie ‘Forensic’, in which they have the main role. In terms of acting, both stars have done their characters justice. She has done it with ease.
history of forensic film
The story of the movie ‘Forensic’ revolves around forensic expert Johnny Khanna (Vikrant Massey) and police deputy inspector Megha Sharma (Radhika Apte). Set in the Queen of the Hills, Mussoorie, such a bloody game is played in this story, after seeing what goosebumps she gets on her feet. In reality, children are being killed one after another in this mountainous area. Especially those children who have a birthday. Megha stationed at the local police station is tasked with solving these serial murder incidents. But the cases are so complicated that they are not going to be solved so easily. This is why forensic expert Johnny Khanna is also into this. Johnny is considered a master at his job. But his work style is a bit different from the others. The fact that Megha and Johnny are on a case together makes them both uncomfortable. Because they have their own past. They both broke up after being in the relationship. Struggling with their personal lives, they both have to solve a very complicated case quickly.
The responsibility of Deputy Police Inspector Megha Sharma and forensic expert Johnny Khanna increases by the day. Based on forensic evidence, Johnny concludes that a 10-12 year old boy is committing this crime. The police catch up with one of those children. She tries to talk to him, but he behaves strangely. The police have to take the help of child psychologist Dr. Ranjana Gupta (Prachi Desai). After this it is known that another person is asking the child to do the same. After saying that, he kidnaps the girls whose birthday is there. After that, they are killed. But when the police arrive there with the boy, they find no one there. Everyone is surprised. Once again the question arises as to who is the psycho killer who killed the girls after all. Who is it that is continually kidnapping girls and killing them? The answer to these questions is found in the climax of the film, which makes the story interesting.
forensic movie review
Despite being a Hindi remake of a Malayalam movie, ‘Forensic’ has many twists and turns, which are surprising. The story of the film is simple. Such stories must have been seen many times in crime thrillers. The script is also weak. But the movie has become interesting because of the strong direction and strong acting from the cast. After the movie ‘Chhori’, Vishal Fury once proved that he is a strong director. They have the ability to make the movie the best on their own. Had he had the help of the writing team, no one could have prevented it from becoming a super movie. There are many big and small moments in the film that are highlighted by the background music and the direction. Along with this, a strong aspect is its cinematography, which has been made by Anshul Choubey. He has captured the beautiful views of the Mussoorie Hills very well on camera for himself.
As far as the acting of the actors is concerned, excellent performances by Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte bring the film to life. Radhika as Deputy Police Inspector Megha Sharma and Vikrant as forensic expert Johnny Khanna have done an amazing job. Both actors have recognized very well the pulse of the OTT audience. This is the reason why everyone likes his excellent performance. Actress Prachi Desai looks decent in the character of Dr. Ranjana Gupta. The kind of acting that is expected of him has not been shown in this film. Vindu Dara Singh doesn’t have much to do in the role of a police officer, but his character is remembered even after having less screen space. Rohit Roy definitely surprises. But his character disappears as fast as he appears in the movie. Overall, ‘Forensic’ can’t be considered very good in the psychological crime thriller category, but yes, it can definitely be seen once. It can be seen on Zee5.
