From Alpha to the dangerous Delta Plus; Will Kovshield and Kovacs hold out? The center says

New Delhi: The central government has said that the Kovid Shield and Kovax vaccines will be able to protect against new strains of the corona virus. These vaccines can combat genetically modified alpha, beta, gamma, and delta variants. The government said it was continuing to test whether the vaccines would be effective against the Delta Plus variant.

ICMR CEO Balram Bhargava said Kovacs could combat the Delta variant found in the country. Covshield is able to combat excess alpha. “The Pfizer Madonna vaccines are becoming more effective in preventing new variants,” he told a news conference.

It is concerning that it is unclear whether Kovshield and Kovacs will be able to withstand the Delta Plus variant, which is expected to cause a third wave of Kovid. The government has said it will release its results within a week on the effectiveness of the vaccine.

According to Balram Bhargava, Delt Plus has been reported in 11 states, including Kerala. So far, 48 cases have been confirmed in 11 states. He added that the Delta Plus variant, which has more expandability, must immediately defend itself.

It is found in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, and Karnataka. Delta Plus variant confirmed. Maharashtra has the highest number of Kovid cases reported in the country with 20 Delta Plus cases and Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh with 9 cases. In Kerala, three people have been diagnosed with the disease, according to a media report.

The director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adanom Gebrias, said that Delta Plus was the most dangerous and highly contagious of all the confirmed variants so far.
The Delta variant, which was first confirmed in the country last December, has been rolled out to 174 districts across the country in June. At the same time, the central government believes that the expansion of Delta Plus is local.
