Before the release, there were all kinds of fears about Bachchan Pandey. The biggest apprehension was that the Akshay Kumar-Kriti Sanon-starring drama might have to suffer in the face of how emotional the audience looks about The Kashmir Files. Crowds of moviegoers lined up in front of The Kashmir Files box office and the way its collections came out, justifying the possibility of a showdown. But the Bachchan Pandey day one collection, which was released on the afternoon of Holi day, is answering all the questions. In a word, there is no such thing as a fictional crash at the box office. Bachchan Pandey has not affected the natural growth of The Kashmir Files and Akshay’s film also seems to be running at the desired speed as expected by the producers.
Before The Kashmir Files, if we look at the collection of Bachchan Pandey at the domestic box office, the film has collected a huge collection of Rs 13.25 crore on the first day. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the gains are only in the second half. Bachchan Pandey’s exhibition in front of The Kashmir Files was also at a limit. And the movie storm is already building up at the box office. Despite this, if Akshay’s film has grossed over Rs 13 crore in half a day, then there can be no better scene or figure for the film business circle in the Corona era.
Bachchan Pandey and the Kashmir Archives.
It can be said from the statement that after Suryavanshi, Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey will also go ahead to make many big business records at the box office. Movie earnings on the second and third days can be more than double the growth compared to the first day. Don’t be surprised if the movie already earned Rs 50 crore at the domestic box office in the first weekend alone, meaning Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Even ignoring the kind of box office conditions in front of Bachchan Pandey, many records were made in first day earnings.
1) For example, among the number of movies that have arrived in the pandemic so far, Bachchan Pandey came second on the list in terms of highest earning on day one. In this case, Akshay’s film Suryavanshi, which was released on Diwali weekend, is at number one with Rs 26.29 crore.
2) Bachchan Pandey has so far become the first film released in the year 2022, which scored the highest box office score. Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi was the biggest movie in terms of scale among the big movies hitting theaters this year. Gangubai did a 13.25 crore trade on the first day. Amitabh Bachchan’s Jhund got just Rs 1.38 crore and Badhaai Do also got a just Rs 1.65 crore opening on the first day. The Kashmir Files earned 3.55 crores.
The Kashmir files did not harm Bachchan Pandey, he himself was not affected either
The film, which opened on just 630 screens on day one, is playing on 4,000 screens worldwide as of today. The Kashmir Files is in its second week. And despite the presence of Bachchan Pandey on the first day, the film did a 19.15 crore business in India alone. This can be considered a great record in Bollywood history on the first day of the second week. So far, the total profit of the film has reached Rs 116.45 crore.
Probably by Monday, the Vivek Agnihotri-directed film will easily break the 150 crore mark. The strong trend with respect to the film indicates this. By the way, Holi made it clear that both films have not harmed each other’s business interests. The Holi-like trend regarding both movies can be seen in the upcoming box office results.

Box office history repeats itself after 47 years
The earnings of The Kashmir Files, dubbed into Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, are now a case study. After Jai Santoshi Maa and Uri: The Surgical Strike, this movie is proving to be a box office winning movie that was not even imagined. In a tweet today, Taran Adarsh rightly said: I witnessed the unrivaled frenzy (watch the movie) in 1975. It had to go up against a strong movie like (Jai Santoshi Maa) Sholay. After 47 years it is happening again. The Kashmir Files is creating history, breaking records and setting new benchmarks. No one expected this kind of profit from Vivek Agnihotri’s film.
…so Bachchan Pandey will also earn Rs 100 crore
The first day of collection can be considered as a guarantee. The film has all the makings of being a mass entertainer. Reviews and public reactions are also strengthening word of mouth. As per the trend, the film starring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra, Pankaj Tripathi directed by Farhad Samji can earn Rs 100 crore in the first week. There have been many times in the history of Bollywood when two good movies together have earned bumpers and become blockbusters. Both movies are proving to be successful in attracting the audience despite having different themes.
