Commander LED Nadeem Abrar was killed. He had killed several members of the security personnel and civilians. IGP Kashmir Police Vijay Kumar said his accomplice was also killed in the clash.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the confrontation took place on the National Highway. Subsequently, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed on the national highway.
The incident took place while a vehicle was being inspected in Parimpora Naka during the inspection. When a vehicle stopped, the masked man in the back seat opened the bag and pulled out the grenade. The security forces quickly seized him and arrested the man.
The driver and the person in the back seat were taken to the police station. He was later identified as LED Commander Nadeem Abrar. He was later questioned by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and the army. A pistol and a grenade were found in his possession. Furthermore, interrogation revealed that AK-47 rifles and other explosives were stored in the Malora area.
Abrar’s accomplice was shot while going to retrieve weapons. When the group entered the house with Abrar, the terrorist in hiding was shot. Kashmir’s IGP Vijay Kumar said that three soldiers who were with Abrar were injured in the attack. The attacker struck shortly after noon in front of a police station. Two AK-37 rifles were recovered from the scene. The seriously injured deputy commander has been transferred to a military hospital.
