Love Jihad: The bite of Love Jihad has been seen in these Bollywood movies!

Today, the word love jihad is rapidly trending on social media. The reason for this is the Shraddha murder case which occurred in Mehrauli, Delhi. This case has shocked the entire country. People’s hearts ache to learn of the horrifying manner in which the body was disposed of after this massacre was carried out. People blame love jihad for this case. He believes that the alleged lover Aftab Punewala has killed his girlfriend Shraddha Madan Walker because of the jihad of love. Love Jihad was first heard in the year 2008, in Kerala, a large number of Hindu and Christian girls were being lured into the love trap and converted to the religion under the pretense of marriage. Love Jihad is made up of two words. Love is an English word. This hindi meaning is love. Jihad is an Arabic word. Its Hindi meaning is to strive for a specific purpose.

In this way, in the jihad of love, people of a certain religion try to convert girls of other religions by trapping them in their love trap. Even before this word was invented, such incidents used to occur in society. That is why its glimpse is also seen in the cinema. In recent years, many movies have been made based on Love Jihad. Among these, the name of a movie ‘The Conversion’ can be taken prominently. ‘The Conversion’ was released in theaters on May 6 of this year. In this film, it was shown how Hindu girls are becoming in the name of love and marriage. However, there was also a dispute regarding this. 1. Movie – The Conversion

“Those who deceive our daughters by tying up Tilak Kalava should reform, because the country’s Hindu has awakened”… This dialogue from the film ‘The Conversion’ allows us to understand his story. In the film a love triangle is shown. An Indian girl studies at a university. Both a Muslim and a Hindu boy fall in love with her. But the Muslim boy changes his name and stays with her. She impresses him by reciting Sanskrit verses. The girl rebels against her family after falling into her trap. Her saying is: ‘Not all Muslims are bad.’ After this, she marries a Muslim boy. He is forced to convert to religion. Her refusal is tortured. In the end, that girl understands that she is caught in the trap. After this, with the help of one of her Hindu friends, she manages to get out of that trap. She makes an attempt to kill him. But her family and friends save together. The girl starts an awareness campaign towards love jihad. In this film she has tried to show reality, which has been seen and read many times in the news. Directed by Vinod Tiwari, the film stars Vindhya Tiwari, Prateek Shukla, and Ravi Bhatia in lead roles.

2. Storm

The movie ‘Toofan’ was broadcast on July 16, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. It stars Farhan Akhtar, Mrinal Thakur, Hussain Dalal, Mohan Agashe, and Paresh Rawal in major roles. The movie is based on the love story of a Muslim boy and a Hindu girl. Ajju is a boxer while Ananya is a doctor by profession. Ananya’s father Nana Prabhu gives boxing training. Ajju receives training from him. Ajju and Ananya meet at the hospital. They both begin to love each other. Despite Nana Prabhu’s opposition, they both get married. Contrary to social thought, the marriage of a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy has been justified in this film. Not only this, it has also tried to show that people who oppose such marriages suffer from narrow-mindedness. For example, Nana Prabhu has been found guilty in this movie. On the other hand, Ajju has been described as a good person. There were many protests against this film at the time of its release. People claimed that such movies would foster love jihad. He must not be released.


Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Suryavanshi’ was released on November 5 last year. It stars Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Ranveer Singh, and Katrina Kaif in various roles. This film in the Cop Universe franchise was accused of Islamophobia and Love Jihad. The story of the film is based on the terrorist incidents in Mumbai and the pranks of Pakistan. In the film it is shown that Pakistani trained terrorists are sent to India making sleeper cells. A terrorist disguises himself as a Hindu in Goa and marries a girl by trapping her in love with her. She worships with him, but he goes alone and offers Namaz. One day, his Pakistani handler comes to Goa and plans an explosion in his godown. Meanwhile, the wife of a Hindu turned terrorist arrives. The terrorist takes his own life so that the secret is not revealed. Based on this story, they talk about the jihad of love. Rohit Shetty’s film highlights the seriousness of issues such as Muslim terrorism and love jihad. It has become the main part of the movie.

4. Atrangi Lightning

The film starring Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan ‘Atrangi Re’ was released in theaters on 24th December 2021. It is directed by Aanand L Rai. This film was also accused of promoting love jihad. There was a lot of protest about this on social media. In those days, #Boycott_Atrangi_Re was trending. The people had demanded to ban the film. Rinku (Sara Ali Khan) is shown to be in love with Sajjad (Akshay Kumar). Due to opposition from her family, she tries to run away from home with Sajjad several times, but is always caught. In the story’s flashback, it is shown that her mother was also in love with a Muslim boy. Both get married, so her maternal grandparents burn her father alive. Along with this, there is a lot of such dialogue in this movie, which directly attacks religion.
