Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar called on people to use bicycles amid rising fuel prices in the country. The statement of Tomar was in support of the central government in increasing fuel prices.

The minister said cycling would reduce air pollution and improve health. He said the money raised on fuel was being used for the welfare of the poor.

“Shall we cycle to the vegetable market? It keeps us healthy and reduces air pollution. Despite the high cost of fuel, the money raised is used to help the poor.” Said the minister.

“Is gasoline and diesel important or is the health sector important in the country?” Asked the minister. The controversial statement by the minister comes at a time when fuel prices are skyrocketing across the country.
