New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will meet Congress Speaker Sonia Gandhi in Delhi today as part of her political moves. The meeting will take place at Sonia Gandhi’s residence on Janpath. Mamata will reportedly arrive at Sonia’s residence at 4.30pm.

This is the first time that Mamata Banerjee has met Sonia Gandhi after the landslide victory of the Trinamool Congress over the BJP in West Bengal. Today’s discussion is about forming an opposition alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting comes amid reports from opposition leaders and journalists leaking phones using Pegasus spyware. Mamata Banerjee had yesterday expressed her displeasure to Prime Minister Modi over the issue. Opposition groups called for an independent investigation into the Pegasus allegations. Mamata Banerjee will also meet party MPs at the residence of Trinamool MP Sukhendu Seshar Roy. According to Trinamool sources, Mamata Banerjee will hold talks with Sonia Gandhi and Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Mamata Banerjee will meet the media in Delhi tonight.
