The mysterious death of the late film actor Sushant Singh Rajput may not yet be discovered, but the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is involved in investigating this case, remains very active. In a true sense, the ‘Sushant Case’ investigation has now become a ‘Drug Case’ investigation. In this case, a celebrity is being arrested or NCB raids are taking place there. The latest case is related to the arrest of Bollywood actor Armaan Kohli, who is behind bars for possession of prohibited drugs such as cocaine. Armaan Kohli, who has worked in such films as ‘Jaani Dushman’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, also appeared in the seventh season of the most famous but controversial reality TV show Bigg Boss.
From the moment the Office of Narcotics Control became associated with this case, it has hardened the tie of the drug business in the motion picture industry. The daily arrests of drug dealers and drug addicts are the greatest proof of this. NCB is adding link after link in its investigation and is getting its hands on the gang of its criminals, who are drug traffickers. In this sequence, on the morning of August 28, the investigating agency arrested a large drug dealer, Ajay Raju Singh, for assaulting Haji Ali. 25 grams of MD were recovered from it. When questioned, he revealed the name of actor Armaan Kohli. After this NCB he launched another operation in the afternoon. Armaan’s home located in the Andheri area of Mumbai was raided.
Film actor Armaan Kohli has worked with Dabang star Salman Khan in the movie ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’.
Gaurav Dixit was captured before Armaan Kohli
NCB Zone Director Sameer Wankhede said Armaan Kohli had found cocaine and some international drugs in the raid. After this, he was arrested after questioning. A case has been registered against Armaan Kohli under sections 21 (a), 27 (a), 28, 29, 30 and 35 of the NDPS. Before Armaan Kohli, NCB had also arrested television actor Gaurav Dixit in the drug case. During the raids, the NCB had recovered prohibited drugs such as MD, MDAA, and many other narcotics from his home. He has been in the custody of NCB on August 30. Gaurav is an actor. He has played small roles in movies. He has worked on films such as ‘The Magic of Cinema’, Dahek: The Restless Mind and Bobby: Love and Lust.
Ejaz Khan and Shadab Batata arrested
Previously, after the arrest of drug dealer Shadab Batata in this case, the name of the film actor Ejaz Khan had come up. After this, NCB arrested him in March of this year. Ejaz Khan was arrested under sections 8C, 27A, 28, 29 and 32 of the NDPS Act. You are in jail for more than 6 months. He had also filed applications for bail several times, but the NDPS court rejected him, saying the charges against him are very serious. The name of Gaurav Dixit came to light only after the questioning of Ejaz Khan. The investigating agency will now question them both face to face. Not only this, NCB is also expected to get a lot of important leads from Gaurav, who has been missing for the past few months.
These great film personalities were questioned
Many movie personalities have been on the radar of the Office of Narcotics Control since day one in the drug case. Many of these stars have been summoned and questioned. These big names include Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakulpreet Singh. Although, after questioning, no action has yet been taken against these stars, all of these people have definitely been named on the NCB charge sheet. During the investigation of the same case, the investigating agency raided the home of comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa, from where the marijuana was recovered. During the NCB questioning, both Bharti Singh and Harsh had confessed that they had been using marijuana. After this he was arrested. However, he was later granted bail.
Riya and Sauvik Chakraborty arrested
After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, if anyone was the most targeted, it was the film actress and Riya Chakraborty, who was Sushant’s girlfriend. In the eyes of the people, she was the prime suspect in this case. This is the reason why there was moral pressure on all CBI, ED and NCB agencies investigating this case to arrest Riya. But based on multiple inquiries and WhatsApp chat logs, NCB arrested Riya Chakraborty and her brother Shauvik Chakraborty. Riya was housed in Byculla Jail in Mumbai for about three months. After this, they both obtained a bond from the Bombay High Court. Currently, a Chehre of Rhea Chakraborty film has been released, in which she is seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan and serial kisser Emraan Hashmi.
How did the drug connection to the Sushant case come about?
The investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput was handed over to the CBI and the Department of Education by the government. The investigation of this case started from the money laundering angle, as Sushant’s father had accused Riya and her family of misappropriating millions of rupees. In the ED investigation, some suspicious chats emerged from Riya Chakraborty’s cell phones and some others, in which it was written about the purchase and use of drugs. After this ED he turned over all these records to NCB. NCB began investigating this case from a drug point of view. A case was registered against Riya Chakraborty on August 26, 2020 based on chat logs obtained from ED. After this NCB questioned people related to Sushant, Bollywood celebrities and family members.
33 defendants on NCB’s charge sheet
The Narcotics Control Office detained Riya Chakraborty’s brother, Shauvik Chakraborty, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager, Samuel Miranda, on September 4, 2020. After this, the court sent him into judicial custody until September 9. On September 8, 2020, NCB took significant action and detained Riya Chakraborty after a lengthy 3-day interrogation. However, later, both Riya and her brother Sauvik obtained a bond from the High Court. NCB had filed its first charge sheet in court on March 5, 2021, after a lengthy investigation and questioning of this case. On this charge sheet, a total of 33 people have been charged, including Riya Chakraborty and her Bai Sauvik. The NCB has accused all of these people of trading and using drugs. Regarding this charge sheet, the NDPS court had praised the NCB and said that prima facie the investigation of the allegations in the complaint appears to have been done very well.
