OBC policy was discussed again; How will the central government defend itself?

The OBC policy, which shattered the BJP’s Hindutva policy, is being discussed over and over again in the country. The Shiv Sena-Congress government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court requesting permission to list the CBOs, including the Marathas, in Maharashtra. Maharashtra has also required the Center to release OBC data on the 2011 census conducted during the congressional-led UPA government. But the Center told the Supreme Court yesterday that the OBC census could not be carried out. According to an affidavit issued by the Union Ministry of Social Justice, only the Adivasi-Dalit population will be taken into account in the 2021 census. Accounting for CBOs is an administratively complex process. Past experience has shown that it is very difficult to obtain accurate information. The data collected in the 2011 census is inaccurate. These figures, which are technically faulty, cannot be used for any kind of reservation. According to the affidavit, the central government has decided not to take OBC figures in the 2021 census. The census has been delayed due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. Orders issued by the Supreme Court will adversely affect the census plan. The affidavit also states that the court must not interfere in the policy decisions of the Central Government. The affidavit also includes the 1931 census taken during British rule. The 1931 census establishes that there are 4,147 castes in the country. But the 2011 census says there are more than 46 lakhs of castes in the country. Although some subspecies may have become castes, such an increase is unlikely. Therefore, the OBC census figures cannot be trusted. The Center also said that the 2011 census data should not be released. The Janata Dal, an ally of the NDA, also spoke out against the position of the central government. The leader of Janata Dal and Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had previously met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand a census of the CBO. Sushil Kumar Modi, a senior leader of the BJP-RSS in Bihar, is also of the opinion that the OBC census should be conducted. The Center has also stated its position in the Supreme Court, rejecting the objections of the ruling party.

The RJD, Bihar’s main backward party, also spoke out against the central government’s position. RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav has accused the Center of being “insensitive” to the OBC’s demands. ” It has all kinds of birds, animals and trees in the country. But the Center is not ready to count the number of CBOs. What is so hostile to CBOs? The caste census will be beneficial to all communities.
