New Delhi: The Center has said it will investigate the ‘Pandora Document’ that leaked high-level tax evasion allegations. The investigation will be headed by the president of the Board of Direct Taxes. Officials from the Directorate of Execution, the Reserve Bank and the Financial Intelligence Unit will also participate in the investigation.

The International Federation of Media Workers has stated that it will release information on the investments of more celebrities in the coming days. The newspaper is said to contain information on more than 300 indigenous people. It has been revealed that celebrities and leaders from different countries have made tax deductible investments abroad. The disclosure was made by a consortium of investigative journalists.

The list includes Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Ambani, Neerav Modi and Vinod Adani, who left the country after committing fraud. The black money deposits of prominent people in 91 countries, including India, have come to light. The list includes businessmen, politicians and people under investigation from India. The report, titled Pandora Papers, lists 29,000 companies and trusts established in tax-exempt countries. An investigation by various media outlets and the International Consortium for Investigative Journalism has uncovered more than 12 million documents.

Most of the documents are from political leaders. The King of Jordan has a net worth of Rs 700 million in the US and UK. The document also contains information on the investment of Russian President Putin.

Sachin Tendulkar, his wife Anjali and his father-in-law Anand Mehta have been revealed to have invested in the British Virgin Islands. All three are directors of Sass International Limited on the island. According to the report, Tendulkar and others withdrew from Sass International Ltd. following Panama Paper’s disclosures about black money deposits.
