The state government of Karnataka performed the last rites of Puneet Rajkumar with full political honours. Puneet’s body was wrapped in the national flag and the last rites were performed at Kanteerva Stadium. Meanwhile, thousands of fans came to see their favorite superstar for the last time. Several film stars and political figures like N Balakrishna, Chiranjeevi, Jr NTR, Venkatesh, Arjun Sarja and Prabhu Deva paid tributes to Puneet Rajkumar.

The last rites of Puneet Rajkumar were to be held on Saturday evening. Puneet’s daughter Dhriti was waiting for him to return from America. However, it was night time and a large number of fans were present so it was decided to conduct the last rites on Sunday morning. Puneet’s family also agreed with this decision. Puneet’s wife Ashwini is devastated. They have two daughters, Dhriti and Vandita.

At Puneet’s funeral, the national anthem was played by Poli’s band and the officers fired three rounds. Karnataka Chief Minister handed over the tricolor to Puneeth’s wife Ashwini Revanti. The death of Puneet Rajkumar has caused a deep shock among the fans. In Bengaluru too, the sale of liquor has been banned for two nights till 31 October. Patrolling has also been increased. There is mourning across Karnataka due to the demise of actor Puneeth Rajkumar. All theaters in the state have been closed. Section 144 has been imposed in some areas to control fans.
