Bollywood filmmakers don’t know why they don’t understand that now making films with a fixed formula isn’t going to work. On the one hand, South Cinema is creating panic at the box office, on the other hand, Bollywood is unable to disappoint with remakes and biopics. Because of this, there is a constant taste of failure. The movies are proving to be a disaster, not just a flop. A new movie has been added to this list. Yes, the film starring Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and Abhimanyu Dassani ‘Nikamma’ has been released in theaters which is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film ‘Middle Class Abbai’. Made under the banner of Sony Pictures International and Sabir Khan Films, the film also stars Shirley Setia, Abhimanyu Singh and Sachin Khedekar in the lead roles. The story of the film is written by Venu Sriram, Sabir Khan and Sanamjit Singh Tanwar.
The movie ‘Nikamma’ is receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics and audiences. The story of the film is told in a clichéd way. The script is weak. Director of the best films like ‘Heropanti’ and ‘Baaghi’, Sabir Khan has missed out on directing the film remake. Actress Shilpa Shetty, who is constantly trying to return to Bollywood, and the film’s lead actor, Abhimanyu Dassani, have become victims of overacting. Despite having well-known actors like Vikram Gokhale, Sachin Khedekar, Sameer Soni, the film also fails on the acting front. The actor Abhimanyu Singh is known for the negative roles of him. But he also looks ineffective in this movie. Dabangg looks fake in the role of a mob leader. There is no such reason in the movie, so you need to spend precious time and money in movie theaters.
Bollywood film ‘Nikamma’ is the Hindi remake of Telugu film ‘Middle Class Abbai’.
Shubhra Gupta has written for The Indian Express. “Watching a two-and-a-half hour Nikamma movie is nothing short of torture. During this, there was more concern about the future of Bollywood than the movie. On the one hand, the creators of South are bringing movies based on new concepts and content cool, on the other hand, Bollywood is still engaged in imitation. Trying to make their shop shine with the help of the new version. If it was known earlier that if this would be served in the name of new hero and new movie, then it would have been better stay at home. There is nothing in this movie that we have seen for the first time. Everything is the same as seen before in Bollywood masala movies. Bike race, fight scene, a hero fight with thugs and dance and I don’t understand how an artist like Shilpa Shetty thought of a comeback through such a movie, after seeing Bollywood start to worry.
Times of India film journalist Upma Singh writes: “The biggest problem with this Sabir Khan film is that everything looks empty from above, because the script is not deep. Even the details of the characters have not been worked out, so you can’t connect with them. This film of about two and a half hours seems quite long. Abhimanyu Dassani has become a victim of overacting. If he has to get out of the shadow of his mother Bhagyashree, then he will have to work harder in her craft. Shilpa Shetty is good as Avni. She has played her part honestly. Shirley Setia just looks cute. Abhimanyu Singh sits like a villain. If she shows the famous buildings like Imambara of Lucknow, Ghantaghar, Hazratganj and the University of Lucknow counting the city of Damli, then the story is not going to be trusted anyway.
Pankaj Shukla, Senior Film Critic at Amar Ujala, wrote: “Somewhere in the brick, somewhere, Pandora added to the family, the Nikamma category film is a waste of time of about two and a half hours, whose fault is only and only before this movie is smog Only propaganda can be given This movie is the weakness of Nikamma’s script that apart from Shilpa Shetty and Abhimanyu Dassani the rest of the actors also can’t leave any impact This movie is not worthy of the Shirley Setia’s debut and Abhimanyu Singh has nothing new left to show as an actor. The rest of the actors in the film are also seen doing just a time pass. Another major weakness of the film is its music. The effect of the song Nikamma Kiya Iss Dil Ne remix does not stay after leaving the theater either. The film is a waste of time and money, better not to see it in theaters.
Also on social media, most of the people are giving negative comments about the movie. One user, Anmol Jamwal, wrote on Twitter: “I wonder what was the need to make a Hindi remake of a successful and popular Southern movie ‘Middle Class Abbai’. The full movie is available on YouTube. See Abhimanyu Dassani in the movie makes him uncomfortable.” Akash Patil, tagging actor Abhimanyu Dassani on Twitter, writes: “Brother, why did you make this movie? This is complete torture. It was better to sit in the movie theater than endure 2.5 hours that I ran away after the interval . You need to work hard to act now. It won’t happen like that.” Siddharth Pendharkar also writes very sadly after watching the movie: “I saw the useless movie. This is a remake of South Movie, which is available on YouTube. It has been copied scene by scene.

#Nikamma 1st half: I wonder why they’ve remade #classmediaAbbayi : a #Nani commercial pot kettle that was average at best. it’s awkward to see #AbhimanyuDassani Ham his way through this role, only shining in the pre-interval action scene. Clichés galore so far.
