Simmons’ response to Marsh’s shot; Australia overtakes Windies in thriller

Saint Lucia: Australia won the fourth match of the T20 series against the West Indies by 5 runs. The visitors hit first and scored 189 of 6, while the Windies battled to 185. This is Australia’s first win in a five-game series. Previously, the hosts had won the first three games of the series.

Aaron Finch and Mitchell Marsh’s shot came to Australia’s rescue despite the batting collapse. Finch scored 53 of 37 balls and Marsh scored 75 of 44 balls. Dan Christian, who scored 22 of 14, is the only other Australian hitter to score two runs. Hayden Walsh Jr., who took three wickets, shone for the Windies.

In response, the West Indies got off to a good start but failed to win. Lendl Simmons (72 of 48 balls) and Evin Lewis (31 of 14 balls) were the first. After the collapse of the middle order, Nicholas Pooran (16), Andre Russell (24) and Fabian Allen (29) fought in the final overs but dropped out of the game. In the last finale, Mitchell Starc’s bowling knocked out Andre Russell. The fifth game between the two teams will be played on Friday. The three-game ODI series begins July 20.
