New Delhi: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has said that the Supreme Court’s criticism of the Uttar Pradesh government for the atrocities committed against farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri will be an opportunity for those who want to oust Yogi Adityanath from the post of Minister Principal.

Subramanian Swamy said on Twitter that the chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, was now in dire straits. “The way forward for Yogi is to become the prime minister or the son of the prime minister of Amit Shah,” he said on Twitter.

On Monday, the Supreme Court criticized the UP police in a case of murder of farmers in a car accident in a farmers’ strike in Lakhimpur. The court asked the UP government to submit a detailed report on the incident before October 27. The UP government has submitted an affidavit in court in a sealed envelope about the incident.

Chief Justice NV Ramana had told lawyer Harish Salve, who was running for the UP government, that he had waited until the last minute for the affidavit and had to wait until evening. So far, UP police have arrested 10 people in connection with the October 3 incident. Three policemen were killed in protester protesters in the assault of protesters.
