T20 Series: Windies and Lewis hit again to give Australia the lead

Saint Lucia: The West Indies won the final match of the T20 series against Australia. The Windies won the final game by 16 runs to win the five-game series 4-1. Australia won only their fourth match. The West Indies excelled in both hitting and bowling throughout the series.

The West Indies won the toss and chose to hit first, scoring 199 of 8. Evin Lewis’ 79 on 34 balls was the highlight of the West Indies innings. Lewis’s hitting included 9 sixes and 4 fours. Chris Gayle (21 of 7 balls) and Nicholas Pooran (31 of 18 balls) were the most prominent artists. Lendl Simmons scored 21 runs. Andrew Tye (three), Adam Sampa (two) and Mitchell Marsh (two) were the best bowlers in Australia.

The collapse of the middle order was a setback for Australia. Aaron Finch (34), Mitchell Marsh (21), Matthew Wade (26), Andrew Tye (15) and Mitchell Sweepson (14) were the only batters to cross the two-wicket mark. Andre Russell and Sheldon Cottrell took three wickets each for the West Indies. The Windies’ performance in the series is a warning to their opponents as the World Cup approaches. There is also a three-game ODI series between the two countries. The first game will be played on Tuesday.
