Terrorist attack in Pulwama; The policeman and his wife were shot and killed

Srinagar: A special police officer and his wife were shot dead by militants in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack took place around 11 p.m. on Sunday. Fayaz Ahmed, a police officer, and his wife Raja Begum were killed. His seriously injured daughter is in Srinagar hospital.

According to national media reports, a three-member team arrived at the policeman’s house in Avantipur and opened fire on him. Fayaz and his wife were rushed to the hospital, but could not be rescued.

It is not clear who carried out the attack. Fayaz, who worked as a special police officer, was reportedly an officer who collected information on terrorist organizations. Special police officers are deployed to liaise with the villagers and gather information.

Two drones were reported to have crashed into the airbase and contained bombs. Two soldiers were also slightly injured in the attack. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who is currently in Ladakh, discussed the situation with senior officials.
