If a fake account is created using an image of another person or organization, the center recommends that it be removed within 24 hours if the actual owners, or anyone else, complains about it. Social media including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube have been instructed.
The IT guidelines have been modified for this purpose. Accounts with photographs of movie stars and political leaders will be processed.

The Times of India quoted an official spokesperson as saying the provisions have been included in the new IT rules for social media companies.
Accounts with images of cricketers, movie stars, political leaders, and organizations are becoming more active, including financial fraud. In view of all this, the Union Ministry of Information Technology has moved. Under the new proposal, social media will have a legal obligation to take action if complaints are received against fake accounts. Social media companies have yet to comment on this.
