Mohali: The Punjab Kings, who are preparing for the rest of the IPL, have suffered a setback. Australian players Jay Richardson and Riley Meredith will miss the second quarter of the ongoing IPL in the United Arab Emirates. CEO Satish Menon told CricketBus that it was only on the last day that they learned that the two would not be playing the rest of the games at the IPL. The franchise learned of this important information through a press release issued by Cricket Australia. Punjab has named young Australian Nathan Ellis to their squad for the remaining IPL matches. The Punjab team hopes that Ellis, who shone with a hat-trick in the series against Bangladesh, will address the concerns of his bowling department. Ellis’s excellent performance against Bangladesh also earned him a spot on Australia’s national team for the Twenty20 World Cup.
