In the words of Salman Khurshid, “Congress has already prepared plans to contest the elections. Congress will not form an alliance with anyone who does not give enough seats. According to Priyanka’s instructions, she travels to all corners of the state to interact with the people. and prepare a manifesto. The assessment so far is that alliances will not benefit the party. Priyanka will lead the party from the front in the Assembly elections. No official decision has been made. Congress has no way of announcing such a decision. But the party will face elections under Priyanka’s leadership Aid such as a widow’s pension will be included in the manifesto.
Salman Khurshid made the statement in the presence of the national spokesman for Congress, Supriya Srinath. In July, Priyanka had told the media that she would not rule out alliances in the UP elections and would do everything possible to defeat the BJP. Now it is clear that Congress has changed positions.
Meanwhile, Priyanka visited Sonia Gandhi’s Rae Bareli constituency and the adjoining Amethi constituency after an interval of two years. Accompanied by activists and local leaders, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Sankadamochan Temple. At a meeting at the Rae Bareli guest house, Priyanka also ordered the workers to work actively to overthrow the BJP government. A congressional activist told the media that Priyanka had instructed them to do everything possible to overthrow the BJP government, which had failed in all areas.
Hindutva and Congress
Priyanka has also instructed activists to confront the BJP’s Hindutva propaganda. A bloc-level Congressional activist said that Priyanka had suggested that Congress should have faith in Shri Ram and Shri Krishna, but should not use gods for vested interests like the BJP.
UP and Congress
Priyanka arrived in Lucknow on September 10 to plan her election campaign in Uttar Pradesh. The selection committee then held discussions with the leaders and the advisory committee. Salman Khurshid, the chairman of the state party Ajay Kumar Lallu, Aradhana Mishra, PL Punia and RPN Singh are on the advisory council.
There are 403 seats in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. The BJP won 312 of these seats in the 2017 elections. Congress was limited to just seven seats. But at present, the leadership of Congress believes that there are strong protests against the BJP. Congress is also planning a special trip to increase the party’s influence.
